"Makie"

The Techniques :

Makie is a lacquer technique where the lacquer is painted in multiple layers. This procedure results in a three dimensional look that makes the work look almost alive.

"Chinkin"

This technique is used in order to embed gold leaves (Kinpaku)
into the patterns on Japanese lacquer. This technique can be applied only to Wajima Lacquer ware because of the solid foundation of lacquer layers that are necessary.

* Prices vary and are determined according to the type of lacquer
technique, the type of knife handle, as well as the type of knife chosen.
